Course Structure:
This course consists of three online learning modules that include instructional videos and progress questions. The learning modules are followed by a posttest and course evaluation. The Social Skills practice guide is also included with the course. A continuing education certificate is available for download after successful completion of the course.
Learning Objectives:
Recognize Social Skills as a set of key skills that help youths develop relationships and navigate social situations.
Summarize the three components of Social Skills, which include introducing the rationale, teaching verbal and nonverbal communication, and practicing these skills in and out of session.
Demonstrate the difference between effective and ineffective ways of teaching verbal and nonverbal communication.
State the rationale for practicing social skills in a way that would be understandable to youths.
